What this site is

RegisterMyQuote ("we", "us") is a private registry that lets you put a wording on the record with a timestamp, a context note, and a public page. It is not a copyright office, a trademark filing service, or a legal authority. A registered record is a private receipt that says when you put your wording on the record, not proof of who said it first across all of human history.

What you can register

  • Lines you said, wrote, or attribute with a citable source.
  • Quotes from public figures with a working source URL (transcript, video, primary post). Living-figure entries go through review.
  • Family sayings, team mottos, brand lines you use.

What you cannot register

  • Verbatim text from a copyrighted work where you are not the rightsholder. We have a DMCA takedown route at /legal/dmca.
  • Personal information (phone numbers, addresses, third-party emails) — our moderation pipeline blocks public visibility.
  • Hate speech, threats, content sexualizing minors, instructions for self-harm or violence — moderation blocks these from public surfaces.

Refunds

One-time records: if a Stripe webhook hasn't marked your registration as paid within 24 hours of checkout, email us and we'll refund you. Subscriptions: cancel anytime; the next invoice stops. Past invoices are not refunded by default.

Account deletion

You can request deletion of all data associated with your email at /legal/privacy#delete. Public records get a tombstone (the registration ID and the fact that the record was withdrawn) so the registry stays consistent; the wording, your name, and your email are removed.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, RegisterMyQuote is provided "as is." We don't guarantee your registration will hold up in court, that no one else has said the same line, or that our scan caught every prior source. We do guarantee we'll handle takedown requests promptly and fix wording errors in public.

Changes

We may update these terms; the "last updated" date at the top is the only authoritative timestamp. Material changes are emailed to registered users.
